…Heartbeats & Footprints Pilgrimages…

…An Outward Journey to Find Inward Meaning…

Being able to travel to and intimately see so many different parts of the world has profoundly changed my life and everything about me. Being able to stop in and move through so many different inward and outward landscapes of life has given me the best life education that I personally could have hoped for. I have learned so much from spending time in remote Himalayan mountains, in jungles, in deserts, in villages, and on small islands. I am thankful to have spent meaningful time in the overcrowded streets of overwhelmed capital cities, and worked in the impoverished slum areas of many different countries.

I am thankful to have uniquely learned from the time I have spent in Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Christian and other spiritual countries and communities. All of these experiences and different perspectives of life have come together to make me who I am and to give me a deeper understanding of the human experience and what it means to be human.

In many ways the different journeys that have unfolded and taken place during the course of my travels have been one long continuous pilgrimage. A pilgrimage that has mainly been made possible by those that I have encountered and shared it with along the way. I am indebted to all those that have generously opened possibilities for me, accompanied me, taken the time to explain things to me, and created experiences for and with me. I firmly believe that life is at its best when is it is rooted in a giving and receiving relationship.

Inspired by my call to create meaningful experiences that give back, I have started to organize and lead pilgrimages that are built around some of the special places, experiences, life teachings and qualities that I have witnessed and have become part of my life. With an engaged and conscious mind, traveling has the power to be a deeply transformative experience that often leads to important realizations and breakthroughs.

When we are on a pilgrimage, our connection point to life changes. We step out of the everyday life that we are used to and step into a space that allows us to more powerfully see different kinds of lives. When we are in this space, we are often more able to give ourselves the permission that is needed to look at our own lives in a way that encourages us to let go of, or see past what we hold on to or what holds us back. When we are in this space it is easier to enable the changes that we want to make in our lives.

Heartbeats & Footprints Pilgrimages are rooted in the idea of service and are designed to give back to the country and people that they take place in. As part of the spirit of giving back to what we are receiving, when possible, the pilgrimages are organized in a way that uses services that are connected to different service projects. These normally include accommodation, restaurants, and visits to socially conscious and supportive businesses. In addition to that, a portion of the pilgrimage cost is donated to different local service projects that I know and that do meaningful work in the country.

Out of the countries that I have spent meaningful time in Nepal and Uganda are currently the countries that I have chosen (although it would be more accurate to say that they have chosen me) to organize and lead pilgrimages in.

I have also assisted on pilgrimages to India, Bhutan, Spain, Italy, Mexico, and Morocco. I will also be assisting pilgrimages in Assisi, Italy in 2020, and South Africa in 2021.
